Long Weekend Trips (4 nights)

Here we would suggest combining 2 nights at Melako Bandas in the Far North with 2 nights at either Koija Starbeds or Olgaboli Bandas.

Don’t forget to bring all your food and drink!

Day 1 – Take the 3 hour easy highway drive from Nanyuki to Merille.  It is then a short but bumpy 6 km to Melako.  Meet the team and settle into your bandas.  Lunch at the Bandas.  Why not try bird watching with Robert our waiter here who can tell you about the wonderful birdlife in the area. Have a drink as the sun goes down and then dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Spend the day as you choose; you could simply relax or go for a nature walk with one of the rangers; take a game drive or if you have an experienced driver and a good 4×4 vehicle, go and visit the Crater Lake.  This means driving on the sandy river and it is easy to get stuck so this is only suggested for an experienced group.  Lunch and dinner at the Banda.

Day 3 – After breakfast, head back to Nanyuki and then head off up the Dol Dol – Ol jogi – Mpala road towards either Koija Starbeds or Olgaboli Bandas.  This drive will take you approximately 5 hours start to end.  Lunch at the Banda and again, your choice of relaxing after the drive or taking part in one of the activities.  Dinner and overnight at the Banda.

Day 4 – All meals at the Bandas, activities as you choose.  Camel trekking, game drives, cultural immersions, bird watching and unwinding.

Day 5 – After your breakfast, head back home with an understanding and a newfound love for this stunning part of the world.  We promise you will want to return.
