The Koija Cultural Village offers a chance to immerse yourself in the colourful and active dancing and singing culture of the traditional Samburu herders.
Being nomadic, creating and then carrying instruments was not really feasible, leading to the Samburu culture being expressed in brightly coloured beadwork and wraps that could be worn rather than carried. Looking at the intricate pieces of jewlery is fascinating and of course the ladies are always open to some bartering!
The men are also adorned with colourful decoration and show off their athletic prowess with sky high jumping competitions. Why not try this yourself! It is harder than it looks.
