Visit Orphaned Elephants
The Sanctuary has elephant orphans ranging in age from just a few days to several years old and their interaction with their surrogate parent keepers whilst drinking from the elephant sized baby bottles is simply magical to watch. There is nothing quite like being able to watch an elephant baby have a drink from the milk bar! Visit Orphaned elephants at the big north.

All the keepers are from the local community and are formally trained in the care, rehabilitation and release of elephant calves. The keepers act as parents, caring for the babies, feeding them and, as they get older, introducing them to the wilderness with the aim of being able to release them into the wild to have a normal elephant life.
There is an interesting little museum explaining the aims and goals of the Sanctuary and there are several feeding times throughout the day.
