Melako Bandas are self-catering bandas set in the shade of Doum Palms and acacia trees on a stunning sand river. It is a fantastic little private paradise; a perfect little getaway for family and friends with an open area living room, a fully furnished kitchen and two ensuite bedrooms with three beds in each.
If you are more than six people, you can pitch tents outside. This is a perfect overnight stop on the way north or to stay for a few days and explore the wonders of Melako Community Conservancy.

Melako Bandas is two hours drive north of Isiolo. Drive on the main A2 highway just a little past Merille centre and turn right when you see a sign off to the right for “Merille Cattle Market” Follow that road but stay left and follow the electricity poles. You will eventually see a track going diagonally left and you will see Blue gates at the end. Go past the blue gates and then right round the end of the fence and drive past a manyatta on your right and then follow the road that passes a big pile of rocks. Follow for about 6Km and the Banda’s are on your right past the junction of the aircraft taxiway. There are signages installed from the turn off the main A2 highway to the bandas.
